The Pole Dancing Community

“We should consider every day lost on which we have not danced at least once.” ― Friedrich Nietzsche

Last night I went to a pole dancing class, and let me tell you it was quite the experience.

When I first walked in there was another more experienced class finishing up. A girl from this class introduced herself and then proceeded to show us some absolutely amazing moves.

I have never been to amazed, intimidated, and excited about something before. It was such a time.

The vibes were so good, it was dark and they had LED lights everywhere. Our instructor’s name is Daydream, and she is iconic. She used to be a worker at FedEx, and they were responsible for all the shipments while the studio was opening. Apparently, there was an issue with the poles not coming in on time for their first class and it was a whole situation. Well, Daydream who had zero pole experience ended up communicating with these people so much that when it did open she decided that she wanted to take a class.

I haven’t been in a class setting in such a long time but I honestly loved it, learning and trying something new and a bit out of my comfort zone, as well as those around me being in the same position, was liberating.
