Taking Your Health For Granted

“Time and health are two precious assets that we don’t recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted.” – Denis Waitley

You know when you start getting sick and you have a stuffy nose and you think to yourself “Wow I can’t believe that I took breathing out of my nose for granted.”

Another good one is when you have a sore throat and you no longer can talk or swallow without being in pain. What I am dealing with currently is I cannot laugh without end it in a coughing fit, shout out to the upper respiratory infection that I’m trying to fight off.

Most of the world is generally in good health, but we take it for granted unless we no longer have that to fall back on. I know for a fact that I am very spoiled with how good my health is overall.  Although, when I was younger I did have chronic sinus infections for a while which were really a battle to overcome. Since those stopped I get sick maybe once a year, and I can often beat it off without antibiotics.

All that being said, take a second right now and breathe, laugh, talk, dance. These are all things that some people struggle to do, my older brother has had an inhaler since he was two for his asthma, I know someone with cystic fibrosis, their daily routines revolve around ways to help simply breathe easier. So thank your body, thank God or whoever you believe in, you can breathe, and that’s something to be really happy about.
