The Logistician Personality

“I hold that a strongly marked personality can influence descendants for generations.” – Beatrix Potter

The Logistician – ISTJ-T

The ISTJ-T role type is part of the Myer’s Briggs Type Indicator, and it is made up of sixteen different personality types. It breaks down your personality into the psychological differences in people’s mindsets. It takes into account your strengths and weaknesses and is a fantastic way of knowing what a good path for your life is.

Introverted

Meaning that an ISTJ-T prefers solitary and can easily get exhausted by social interactions and crowds. They need time by themselves to recharge and get fully energized again. They are most likely out of all of the personality types to say we are private individuals.

Observant

Meaning that an ISTJ-T is highly practical, realistic and down-to-earth. They usually have a strong routine and habits that they stick to.

Thinking

Meaning an ISTJ-T is rational, they prioritize logic over emotion and tend to seek efficiency over everything.

Judging

Meaning an ISTJ-T is thorough, extremely organized and can tend to be meticulous. They value clarity, structure, and predictability. You will rarely find an ISTJ-T being spontaneous.

Turbulent

Meaning an ISTJ-T is self-conscious, they are success-driven, perfectionists through and through and constantly looking for ways to improve

  • Harry Truman
  • Natalie Portman

Strengths of Logisticians:

Honest

At the heart of an ISTJ-T is integrity. They believe that honesty is the best policy and is should be always be spoken plain and simple.

Very Responsible

If an ISTJ-T says they are going to do something, they will do it no matter what it takes and often they will do it before they said they would. Their biggest competition is themselves and they will be loyal to their word every single time. They crave dependability.

Practical

An ISTJ-T can see every side of the story and does not lose their temper the second a hardship approaches them. They make decisions with effectiveness in mind and are good leaders.

Jack-Of-All-Trades

If you ask an ISTJ-T for a fun fact they will most likely have a new one floating around in their head every day. They can easily mold themselves to fit the situation they are needed in and can pick up new things easily.

Logistician Weaknesses:

Stubborn

The way an ISTJ-T makes a decision is factual and what they think is the truth. This makes changing their mind quite difficult. They do not like to admit that they are wrong, ad they need to reminded that anyone can miss a detail.

Insensitive

Since an ISTJ-T tends to think instead of feel and put honesty above all. In some circumstances, they may lightly take emotion into consideration but not as much as it should be.

Always By The Book

An ISTJ-T is a rule follower, and they clearly define those rules. They dislike trying new things or bending the rules, the only time they will do so is if it clearly benefits or improves a situation.

Unreasonably Blame Themselves

All of the factors mentioned above make it extremely easy for an ISTJ-T to blame themselves. In a group project, they put all of the pressure on themselves. They take on extra work and if something fails or does not go as planned they believe that they are responsible and only them.

Logisticians in the Workplace & Careers:

An ISTJ-T is your classic perfect employee, they come in early, stay late, and usually take on as much work as humanly possible. They tend to like long-term and stable careers so they can make their ten-year plans and stick to them. Careers that are good for an ISTJ-T surround tradition, repetition, and security and they include:

  • Business and financial
  • Architecture and engineering
  • Healthcare
  • Military
  • Computer/IT

These all make sense because they give an ISTJ-T the stability and organization that they are seeking after.

As an ISTJ-T and taking into account all of my strengths and weaknesses, at my personal ultimate career peak, I would be a CMO or high up in a marketing agency. The ability to see the big picture while also having a almost hyperintense attention to detail would be extremely helpful.

This test is truly a deep dive into your own personality and you can learn a tremendous amount about yourself and others who have taken the test. Making yourself and your relationships healthier.
