Above Zero

“A lot of people like snow. I find it to be an unnecessary freezing of water.” – Carl Reiner

For the past week the wind chill in Kansas City has not reached above zero. For a person that is always cold I would like to say, I am cold, very cold.

I love going to the gym and working out but I could not muster up the courage to face the cold outside. I am sure I am not alone with this either, I don’t think I have ever seen this little movement in out apartment complex. Everyone, besides our crazy neighbors that go out biking for a few hours a day, has stayed inside unless it is absolutely necessary.

There is something about the midwest cold that is particularly harsh. It is not like the mountain cold where it is dry and the sun it out. It is windy, dark, cloudly, and depressing.

I cannot explain how much I am looking forward to the day that the sun shines consistently. As it is currently dumping snow and I am drinking all of the warm beverages in the world. It is essentially impossible to get warm nowadays.

Stay safe, stay warm, and keep looking forward to summer.
