“Reading and naps, two of life’s greatest pleasures, go especially well together.” – Will Schwalbe
I take naps on a nearly daily basis. Some might read that and have their opinion of me change entirely. But I’ve found that when I take a nap I’m more productive.
I used to hate naps and think that they were a sign of weakness. If babies do them then they must be weak, a baby can’t even hold up their own head.
But I’ve discovered that my highly anxious mind and body are always on high alert throughout the day. This means I more or less waste a lot of energy through living. Because of this my energy depletes fast.
A nap refills my cup to get me through the day. If needed caffeine will also help but isn’t ideal.
I highly encourage you to take more naps. They don’t make you weak, they often give you a sense of peace. And who wouldn’t want that?
