“Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” – Socrates
I believe we all have something we want to learn. Whether it be a new language, instrument, tech tool, or something else. I’m sure you can think of at least ten new things you’d love to learn but haven’t yet. The question is, if you can think of all these items then why aren’t you taking action to learn them?
We’re so lucky to be in a world where we can learn things freely and for free most of the time. Sharing knowledge and creating a community are two things that humans love. So if you want to learn something find a teacher, explore your options, get an accountability buddy.
You can be your own teacher if needed and there are endless possibilities for how you can go about it. The main things holding people back are the fear of failure and the fear of change. Two things that will happen in life regardless.
It is okay to fail and it’s okay to change, as long as you’re moving closer to your goal and learning even if you change your goal throughout. You have control over your life. Learn what you want to learn, teach what you want to teach, grow how you want to grow.
