Trains Of Thought

“Our thoughts are like a train, they take us somewhere. Just because a thought passes through the platform of your mind, doesn’t mean you have to get on board. Only jump on the train of thoughts that will take you where you want to go. Think about what you’re thinking about.” – Christine Caine

This tweet was something that hit deep, I was going through a difficult time when I first saw it. I am the type of person that outwardly doesn’t express much but inwardly I am processing enough information to fill the newest 128 GB iPhone.

As I read this it made me realize that I have the capability in me to acknowledge my thoughts without letting them take over or control me. I recognized the strength that not only myself but all of us have within.

Simply put, the realization made me feel really really empowered and secure in myself during times of change and approaching the unknown.

Because that truly is the scariest thing, the unknown. It’s the reason so many people are scared of the dark or the ocean. You just don’t know what you’re going to find, and your mind is the deepest pit into the unknown. Lucky for us it is readily available twenty-fours a day, seven days a week.

But like the tweet says, and like we have to remember, only jump on the trains of thought that will take you where you want to go. All of the others are passing through.
