“When it comes to making friends, it is never about how many you have, but about the kind of energy that they bring. Please choose wisely.” – Edmond Mbiaka
Today is make a friend day and I am challenging you to do just that.
On the surface, this seems like quite a simple and in a way elementary challenge. Once you dig deeper you realize that it is deceptively difficult, I am not saying that you need to go out and replace your best friend of twenty years.
At the same time though sticking with the same group of people your entire life is not the healthiest thing you can do. Especially when it comes to growing and maturing and creating new habits.
It is a balance and a tricky one to maintain. I am sure that there are some people who have met plenty of people but have not attempted to make a new friend in years. On the flip side, there are also people that have been trying for years to make friends and they are still struggling.
Today is your day to be friendly, you never know what will come from it. Maybe do something special or nice, just trying to make someone’s day. Get out of your comfort zone, go to a different coffee shop or park. It is usually easier and in the most unexpected places that you make a connection that’ll spark a friendship.
