The Power Of Food

“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.”
– Charles M. Schulz

When I moved to California I moved in with a bunch of foodies. I never understood or appreciated the true power of food until moving here.

Although I have a restricted diet and tend to not each much it is still is magical.

It can bypass any language barrier, it can heal a broken heart, it can do so much more than any language. It is truly an art and in my opinion, art is the only thing that can cross all borders.

I have seen my host family put so much love and time into preparing meals. It is truly an unofficial love language. If you get saved or given food in this household there is no greater sign of affection.

I used to be very wary about food, my history of ballet slightly forced the viewpoint that food was the closest thing to the devil onto me. But through my time here I have learned that food should be appreciated and loved and there is a community aspect to it as well that should not be taken for granted.
