“When people want to be liked for what they did, they should stop.” – Karl Lagerfeld
I do not know about you but I feel like so often we focus on what we are going to start instead of stopping.
We say we are going to start going to the gym, we are going to start reading more, we are going to start writing that novel, whatever it may be for you.
I personally have found it incredibly difficult to start things.
But when I say I am going to stop watching as much TV and replace it with writing, I am going to stop scrolling mindlessly on my phone and pick up a book, etc. it is so much easier.
I think because it is eliminating the bad habit and replacing it with one that you are motivited with. It can be so easy to come up with an excuse for starting something “Oh, I wish I could but I just don’t have the time.” but when you say instead of this I will now do this it is a win win situation.
Of course, sometimes it is good to treat yourself to a good Netflix binge, but when it becomes a daily habit that is when you know it is no longer the occasional fun weekend.
So, with this new mindset, I have a question for you.
What will you be stopping?
