Little Mia used to lose sleep because she was so consumed with the content of a book, and adult Mia does the same thing. The books have changed from Dork Diaries to Traffic Secrets but the principle is the same.
Books have had a special place in my heart for as long as I can remember.
I love the diversity of books, You can pick up something and be transported into a different world with just a few words and my imagination. You can pick up another book and learn about marketing, psychology, history, whatever your heart desires.
You can choose to leave it looking brand new or you can choose to make it yours and highlight, post-it note, and underline to your heart’s desires.
I personally fall under the latter category, although for the longest time I was definitely a part of the keep them looking new club.
There is a power that books possess that is unmatched in my opinion by any movie recreation. It is in the writing style, the subtle changes in tone, where your imagination takes the description of characters. The power is in your hands when you are reading a book, when you are watching something the power is entirely out of your hands.
