“When your environment is clean your feel happy, motivated, and healthy.” – Lailah Akita
If you know me, I am probably the first person that you would expect to watch Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. In fact, it is quite the opposite.
All my family watched it together when it first came out but during that time I was so busy, and tired all the time so I never ended up actually watching an episode of it.
That is, until this past week.
I watched the first episode with my family and the next day I forced my little sister and mom to Marie Kondo their clothes. After they did it I organized everything and can I say it is a major improvement.
It is insane how much the space around you impacts your mental, emotional, and often time physical health as well.
It took about 30 minutes in total to go through both their clothes and then maybe an hour or so to get it all organized. That is an hour and a half of the time to improve your life. I’d say it is definitely worth it.
It does not have to be drastic, just getting rid of the stuff that you does not spark joy or that you do not wear ever is so good. It also reminds you of clothes that you have that you did not remember.
So if you have the time and energy this weekend throw on a podcast or some music, a Netflix documentary and figure out what sparks joy.
