“Woman to woman. Not enemies. Not rivals. If not friends, then allies.” – Tiffany Reisz
Introduction
I do not know about you but I was very unaware that October was women’s small business month. As a woman myself, I am slightly offended that I had no clue this was even a thing until over halfway through the month.
I am going to overlook this slightly upsetting fact because there are so many wonderful women-owned small businesses out there and I want to shine some light on a handful of them that are just so wonderful and you can tell that only a woman could have made them.
Car Caché
This is a car accessory that holds your handbag and other accessories so that they are accessible, clean, upright, and out of passengers’ way. I mean come on how genius is this? The Car Caché is able to complement your car’s interior while keeping your handbag and miscellaneous items clean, out of passengers’ way, and easily within reach. Which mom’s with kids (so not me but I understand the struggle) do not have to struggle as much anymore.
The Sauce Goddess
The Sauce Goddess is a recipe that was passed down from a dad, Keith, to a daughter, Jennifer. Jennifer took the great recipe and made it better. They have won awards and created new sauces, spices, and dip mixes that are all up to par with their original sauce. The Sauce Goddess a deeply devoted community member. They partner with local and national organizations like Partnerships with Industry and other organizations across the country – helping challenged adults with disabilities perform jobs that are specific to their special skill set.
Zip My Dress
I think we all know the pain and weirdly vulnerable moment of asking someone to zip your dress. Zip my dress is designed so you never have to do that again. It is also designed specifically for the invisible zipper. In addition, it works well on all types of zippers including a traditional zipper handle. They believe the best solution is zipping your own dress and their goal is to enable you to get dressed without help. Which hello independent queens, this is what we are all about.
Aunt Flow
We all know and hate aunt flow, we extremely hate her sometimes abrupt and unprepared entrance. Aunt Flow was painfully aware of this situation and found it a bit odd that toilet paper is always offered for free so why aren’t tampons? They stock business bathrooms with their 100% organic cotton tampons and pads, so companies can offer them for free to employees and guests. People helping people, as people should.
Conclusion
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to fantastic women-owned businesses. If you want to see a comprehensive list you can find it here. Now more than ever before we need to support small businesses. Why not get some cool stuff out of it too?
