Book Review: Milk and Honey

“The poet is the priest of the invisible.” – Wallace Stevens

I have had this book for quite a while and for some reason I never read it. I feel like at this point everyone and their mom have heard of and read this book.

It is a collection of poetry by Rupi Kaur. It is about survival and it is split up into four sections about

  • the hurting
  • the loving
  • the breaking
  • the healing

It shows the beauty in pain, the growth in hurt, the low lows, and the high highs. You can tell the words come from a Rupi, they are her’s, this book is her story, it is her heart on paper.

The poetry explores everything from violence, loss, love, feminity, strength, and more. You cannot deny her talent or her bravery.
