Crushing

“Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It’s the transition that’s troublesome.” – Isaac Asimov

What do you think of when someone says crushing? Pain, frustration, agony.

But it is important that the grapes are crushed to make wine, diamonds form under pressure, olives must be pressed to release the oil, seeds, and roots grow in the darkness.

Crushing, pressure, darkness is all thought of as negative places to be. In reality, they are a place where massive transition occurs. Where the olive turns into oil.

You have to trust the process of the transition in order to grow. You cannot rush it or leave it, you have to go through it.

In society, it is often seen as such a negative thing to be crushed but I think it is time to change that mindset.
