“Have enough courage to trust love one more time and always one more time.” – Maya Angelou
For so long I thought of anxiety and suffering from anxiety as a sign of weakness. I have come to the conclusion that it is actually courage.
Anxiety is literally fear. If you’re anxious and continue to live then you’re facing fear constantly. Even in the face of constant fear those with anxiety still live. If that isn’t courage I don’t know what is.
Granted our courage might look a bit different than yours but it is courage nevertheless. Living life, in general, takes a tremendous amount of energy and strength but anxiety and other mental illnesses only compound the amount of energy and courage needed.
If your battles are internal that doesn’t meant they’re any less worthy of being called a battle. It takes an immeasurable amount of strength to continue with life and you’re doing it.
You’re feeling are valid, you’re emotions aren’t meant to be hidden, your anxiety is courageous.
