The Race Is Only With Yourself

“Focus on your work. Do what you’re great at. Don’t compare yourself to others and or waste time criticizing the lives and work of others. Do what matters most to you and make a difference doing that.” – Germany Kent

It is so easy to look around and compare you’re position to those around you. Seeing other people’s vacations, weddings, etc. all around the world and you feel stuck. I’m here to remind you that the race is only with yourself.

You don’t need to constantly be leveling up if you’re content with where you’re at currently. Typically no one benefits from the comparison trap. The only person you should be comparing yourself to is your past self.

Everyone has their own circumstances and choices that brought them to where they are now. You cannot compare their step 50 to your step 5, that isn’t fair to either of you. It’d be like putting an Olympic gymnast and a toddler just starting and belittling the toddler. When instead you should be using the Olympic gymnast as an inspiration to the toddler.

Keep your energy on yourself and don’t worry about what other people are doing.
