“Home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends.” – Unknown
This house is still talked about on a monthly basis with my family. We built it in McKinney Texas and loved it. We spent a month being homeless before we were able to move in and still held no resentment towards it.
The floorplan was genuinely the perfect floor plan. Besides the personal planning center that was just a tiny office that took up space in the dining room. It checked all the boxes and was so good for hosting people. The island was gigantic and we always had people over. At one point someone came over and they brought their cousin or sister or someone like that with them. When they walked in they said, “See doesn’t it smell like a coffee shop in here.” That’s how you know it’s home.
My room in this house was strange, it was the first time I’d had my own room in a while. I didn’t know what to do with all the space or time. At one point someone walked in and said that it looked like someone didn’t live there. I always kept it spotless and since I hadn’t been somewhere permanently for years. I didn’t know what to do in terms of decorating since I hadn’t gone about it for so long. Granted, we ended up moving a mere eleven months later. So it actually wasn’t that permanent but we did build it to be our forever home. I also wasn’t there for the entire summer since I was in Utah and Kansas but nevertheless, it was a good time.
Whenever we move into a new place it’s instantly compared to this house. I hope whoever bought it loved it as much as we did. I hope they have all the good times and created good memories in the house just like my family did.
