“Create. Not for the money. Not for the fame. Not for the recognition. But for the pure joy of creating something and sharing it.” – Ernest Barbaric
I’m a big fan of passion projects, they’re extremely important. I more or less have had a passion project working for years. What college won’t teach you was a passion project and I have a few others going right now.
People are often under the impression that your passion has to be your job, but a passion project can fuel the same fire within you without it being your full-time job. There are so many opportunities out there nowadays and you don’t have to stick to the 9-5 one full-time job lifestyle if you don’t want to.
With that being said you also don’t have to have your passions take over everything you do. If anything doing this often takes out the passion that was present before. You don’t have to monetize all your hobbies or projects.
Keep yourself happy and grounded with passion projects that aren’t stressful. Take your time and work on them until you’re satisfied, with no pressures or deadlines present. Just working your way through whatever it is that you’re working on.
Don’t feel ashamed if it takes you months or years to work on something. Just slowly chip away at it and see your passion, progress, and project grow. You’ve got this.
