“Can I be close to you?” – The Paper Kites
This is an EP by the Paper Kites that was released in 2013. I cannot remember if I’ve ever listened to them intentionally but with over four million monthly listeners on Spotify, I wouldn’t be surprised if I have. In their bio, they’re called the quiet achievers and I feel like that’s remarkably accurate.
This album provokes emotions in the best way possible. They aren’t necessarily bad or sad but more of a reflection. Almost like you want a hug with one specific person but can’t figure out who that one person is.
Regardless it’s a beautiful EP with six songs and a lot of heart and soul put into it. There’s a feeling of falling without being scared that’s shared throughout the songs that makes you think if you pay attention.
