Have Your Own Opinions

” A tiger doesn’t lose sleep over the opinion of sheep.” –  Anonymous

One thing that has been very present in my life is the fear surrounding sharing and sticking to an opinion.

For some reason, I had the mindset that I would be judged if I changed my opinion, but I also thought that I would be judged if I did not agree with the opinion of those around me.  Meaning my opinion looked like it was constantly changing, and in most cases, it would because I would just nod my head in agreement even if I had no clue what the person was talking about.

The people please in me is still struggling with this mindset. I do not know who else is with me on this, I could be completely alone for all I know, but I want you to know that if you also are dealing with this, it is okay.

One of the first steps I took to overcome this unnecessary problem and the anxiety it created in my life is actually taking the time to form my own opinions. Opinions that were genuinely mine and not influenced by those around me. This was extremely beneficial, because instead of just going with what everyone else was saying I had my own thoughts on the matter.

I may not voice them all the time, reading the room is key, but that does not mean that they are changing constantly depending on who I am with.
