Content & Satisfied

“Many people lose the small joys in the hope for the big happiness.” – Pearl S. Buck

When we are younger we are constantly asked what we want to do when we are older. And this can spur a mindset that we always have to be chasing something bigger, when in reality the greatest gift you can give to yourself is being content with where you are not. Not complacent and lazy but content and satisfied.

There is a big difference between them. When everything can change overnight it is crucial to be satisfied to your core with who you are.

You cannot let the world beat you up or force you down a path you don’t want to go down.

Contentment is a gift that few are able to possess, but everyone is able to have.

It is up to you to gain the courage to not go down the road of collecting things or titles but instead collecting memories. Counting the small blessings instead of dusting them off in hopes to find bigger things to replace them.
