You Don’t Have To Be The Hero Of Your Story

“Needing help doesn’t have a look, but asking for it always looks beautiful.” – Brittany Burgunder

We tend to romanticize being a hero. This can be good at times, it builds a strong and independent person which is really the only way someone can thrive in our society.

The problem with this mindset arrives when you do not know how to ask for help. When you feel so much pressure to be the hero that you feel like you need to save your own life and cannot ask for help along the way.

I am here to tell you that you do not have to be the hero of your story, you can be, but you don’t have to be. Do not put pressure on yourself to be the hero. As humans we build communities and we have them for a reason. When you need help to reach out to your community, let one of them be the hero in this chapter. Your life does not consist of one hero, allow yourself to be the hero when you can but if you can’t don’t feel bad for it.

We are human, we are fragile, and sometimes we need help.
